The best German tennis player Alexander Zverev confirmed his big goal to win a Grand Slam tournament.
"I think it's no secret that this is my main goal for the next six, seven years,", he said after the ATP Finals loss to Taylor Fritz on Saturday.
Zverev's year ended a bit earlier than expected as he failed to reach the title match after his fourth straight loss to Fritz in the semi-finals in Turin. The American will face world number 1 Yannick Siner, while Zverev will turn his attention to next season.
"I will do everything to be at a higher level next year. Now I'm going on a little break and then I'll work hard," said the German.
He decided to skip the Davis Cup finals to give himself more time to recover.
This season, Zverev was defeated by Carlos Alcaraz in the French Open final. He won the Masters in Rome and Paris and will finish the year ranked No. 2 in the world.
