Bulgaria's national football team Georgi Milanov claims that a victory over Belarus is extremely important for the ambitions of the national team.
The midfielder returned to the national team after a break of two years.
"I have been waiting to return to the national team for more than two years. I am proud to defend the colors of our motherland. I feel good and will do everything to help the team for the game with Belarus. It is always a pride for me to play for the national team. I have no problem whether I will be a starter or play less," he said in an interview with the show "Arena Sport".
According to him "the lions" have achieved a well-deserved victory over Luxembourg.
"The match against Luxembourg was extremely difficult and important for the final ranking in the group. The situation in the team was not very good from a psychological point of view, after the loss to Northern Ireland. I hope this win gives us confidence and self-esteem. We showed manly play and character and I think the success against Luxembourg was deserved. We showed tactical discipline. In some small details, you also need luck. In football, you can't do without luck. We gave our all and deservedly won," the midfielder added.
The former Litex and Levski player expects a difficult match against Belarus, hoping as many fans as possible will support the team in the stands.
"In this group, the teams are equal. We didn't deserve to take just a point against Belarus in the first game. In football, the forces have pretty much evened out and each team has football merits. We will come out as concentrated as possible. It is extremely important to congratulate ourselves on success over Belarus. The mood in the camp is positive. I am quite an experienced footballer and I know that one win means nothing. We are firmly on the ground and he knows that it will be a tough fight. They play defensively, it will be difficult for us. I hope we can please the fans with a good win. I'm here to help the team, captain armband or not. I hope we show a good game and win.
The Dinamo Bucharest footballer shared that he is enjoying his football at the club level.
"I feel good. We prepared well with the team. The team has a different face and we are three points away from first place. The league is quite interesting and equal. I enjoy football. The teams are equal. Their infrastructure is better than ours. Dynamo's goals are to enter the top 6, in the playoffs. We are going well and playing good football. We are one of the favorites to do it", said Bulgaria's #1 football player for 2021.
