The hope of a large part of CSKA fans that the “reds“ will attract 6 or 7 new players this winter will not become a reality. The team's selection will not be large-scale and two or three, at best four new players will be attracted, writes “Mach Telegraf“.
The club is aware that winter is not the time for serious deals and therefore will not risk attracting a large number of players. The situation is very different from the summer, since then CSKA was left without a large part of its players and even at the beginning of the season Tomislav Stipić relied on juniors.
After the arrival of Aleksandar Tomas and specifically on the last day of the summer window, the “army“ attracted six new players - Aaron Iseka, James Eto'o, Zumyr Butuchi, Mika Pinto, Ilian Iliev Jr. and Liam Cooper. And before that, CSKA brought in 4 more additions - Ivan Dyulgerov, Lumbard Delova, Godwin Koyalipu, Jason Lokillo, which meant a total of 10 new ones. Here we don't even count Ivan Tasev from Pirin and Ioan Bornosuzov from Genoa, who eventually played a little for the first team and were sent to the double.
„The winter selection has a different goal and will not be like the summer one. It will not be as large-scale. We are looking for players in certain positions. If we find them, the goal is to raise the level of the team, to make the class higher than the one we have at the moment“, commented CSKA sports director Filip Filipov a few days ago.
