Arsenal defeated Crystal Palace 4-1 in a late Saturday match in the English Premier League round.
The recently criticized Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring for the "gunners" after just six minutes of play, but Ismaila Sarr equalized for the hosts five minutes later. By the end of the first half, however, Mikel Arteta's team took a solid lead, with Jesus scoring another goal, and German international Kai Havertz also scoring.
Gabriel Martinelli made it 4-1 after an assist from Declan Rice after an hour of play. In the last minute of the match, Rice also scored with a long-range strike.
Arsenal thus regained third place in the standings, overtaking Nottingham Forest, who were temporarily in the Top 3 after their victory over Brentford earlier in the day. Crystal Palace is in 15th position in the standings with 16 points.
