Terrible news shook Bulgarian football. Martin Dechev suddenly left this world. The coach at the CSKA academy died during a football match in which he took part as a player in the charity tournament “30 years of the Golden Ball – Hristo Stoichkov“. This was announced by the “army“ through their official website.
The former football player left this world at only 34 years of age. The information says that he had a heart attack.
“Martin Dechev went to the field, where he loved to be the most! Our thoughts are with his family, relatives and friends at this difficult time. The club will do everything possible to support them.
Rest in peace, army man!“, the club wrote.
The defender is a youth player of the “red“, for whom he made his professional football debut. He subsequently played for Ludogorets, Cherno More, Montana, Vitosha Bistrica, Oborishte Panagyurishte and Slavia. It was with the “white“ team that he ended his career.
He most recently worked at the CSKA academy, where he led those born in 2015.
