Portuguese Paulo Bento will be the new coach of CSKA, unless a miracle happens. His salary will be phenomenal by Bulgarian standards - 100,000 euros per month, which means that he will receive 1.2 million euros per year, writes “Mach Telegraf“.
The negotiations are being led personally by the sports director of the “reds“ Paulo Noga, with the idea being for Bento to take over CSKA for the start of the new season and build a strong team that can fight for the title and achieve good results in the Conference League, if of course the “reds“ win the play-offs.
Paulo Bento has earned a higher salary almost everywhere he has worked, as he was in charge of the South Korean national team, earning 120,000 euros per month. His career is very rich, as he has led Sporting Lisbon, the Portuguese national team, Brazil's Cruzeiro, Greece's Olympiacos, China's Chongqing Lifan, as well as the national teams of South Korea and the UAE. He has worked with one of the biggest stars in the history of football - Cristiano Ronaldo.
Otherwise, as a footballer he has played for Estrella Amadora, Vitoria Guimaraes, Benfica, Oviedo and Sporting Lisbon, and has 35 matches for the Portuguese national team. The fact that Paulo Bento has already managed Olympiacos and even became the champion of Greece means that he knows what it is like to work in our latitudes.
As for Alexander Tomas, his sentence has already been issued and he will not lead CSKA next season. The curious thing is that Tomas would have been replaced even if he had won the SESAME Cup of Bulgaria, because the club's owners simply have completely different plans for the future.
