Real (Madrid) officially announced the new head coach of the team Xabi Alonso. The specialist's contract is for the next three seasons, from June 1, 2025 to June 30, 2028, the club announced, BTA reported.
Xabi Alonso has 236 official matches as a player for Real between 2009 and 2014. During that time, he won six titles: the tenth European Cup in Lisbon, one European Super Cup, one La Liga title, two Copa del Rey titles and one Spanish Super Cup.
Xabi Alonso is also a legend of the Spanish national team, with whom he won the World Cup in 2010 and two European titles (2008 and 2012), in 113 matches for La Furia.
He began his coaching career at the Real Madrid academy, where he led the under-14 team in the 2018-2019 season.
Now he returns to Real Madrid as one of the best coaches in the world, after making history with Bayer Leverkusen, where he won the Bundesliga, the German Cup and the German Super Cup in three seasons.
Tomorrow, Monday, May 26, Xabi Alonso will be presented officially at a press conference.
Previously, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez will welcome Xabi Alonso at the official signing ceremony of a contract that ties the new coach to the club for the next three seasons.
