Former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has taken over as manager of Bayer Leverkusen, the German club's press service reported, BTA reported.
The contract with the 55-year-old specialist runs until the summer of 2027. Ten Hag replaced Xabi Alonso as head coach, who will be at the helm of Real Madrid.
Ten Hag's last job was at Manchester United, which he left in October 2024. The Dutchman also coached Ajax, Utrecht and Bayern's reserve team. In the 2024/25 season, Bayer took second place in the Bundesliga.
