The leader in the general classification for the season, Marc Marquez with Ducati, won the sprint of the Italian Grand Prix in MotoGP. This is his eighth sprint race victory this season from a total of nine starts, BTA reported.
At the beginning of the race, Marc Marquez's brother - Alex led, but on the fourth lap Marc overtook him and kept the lead until the end. Alex Marquez (Gresini) finished in second position, and third was the Italian Francesco Banaia with Ducati. Marquez had a great ride after a bad start and after the first corner of the start was in seventh position.
Marc Marquez finished with a time of 19:31.41 minutes, overtaking Alex by 1.441 seconds, and Banaia - by 2.561 seconds. Right at the start of the race, South African Brad Binder Red Bull KTM and Frenchman Yohan Zarco with Honda collided, both of whom were eliminated.
With this success, Marc Marquez increased his lead in the standings and now has 245 points, 35 more than his brother Alex Marquez and 98 more than Peco Banaya, who has 147.
Marc Marquez also won the qualification for the actual race tomorrow, which is his 100th pole position in his career in all categories. The Spaniard has the opportunity to win his number 93 tomorrow at the Mugello track. His teammate Francesco Banaya, who has three consecutive victories at the Italian Grand Prix, will start from second position.
