German Cup winner Stuttgart has signed a contract with the winner of the U17 World Cup Noah Darvich from the Spanish champion Barcelona, sportal.bg reported.
Stuttgart announced that the 18-year-old German attacking midfielder has initialed a four-year contract until 2029.
"Noah is one of the biggest talents in his age group and is already playing football at a very high level. We see significant potential in him, not least because of his age," said Stuttgart board member Fabian Wolgemuth. Calling Stuttgart a "special club", Darvich added: "Now I want to settle in quickly, get to know my team-mates and work hard so that I can continue to develop and be successful with this club."
Darvich joined Barcelona's academy in 2023 from Freiburg. He failed to break into the first team and played mainly for the Catalans' reserves in the third division. The midfielder captained the Germany U17 team that won the 2023 World Cup. He also played at the recent U19 European Championship in Romania, but was injured in the group stage and missed the 6-5 extra-time defeat to Spain in the semi-finals.
