Donski and Siddhant Bantia (India) eliminated the number 3 seeded Alexander Merino (Peru) and Christoph Negritou (Germany) at the start after 100 minutes of play with 6:4, 6:7(0), 10-6, after taking the last five games in the decisive championship tiebreak.
Thus, the 26-year-old Bulgarian earned 460 euros and 16 points for the world ranking in duets, in which he occupies 143rd place.
For a place in the semifinals, the two will meet tomorrow Erik Grevelius (Sweden) and Stefan Latinovic (Serbia).
In the singles competition, Donski, who passed the qualifiers, was eliminated yesterday in the first round after a two-set defeat by Timofey Skatov (Kazakhstan).
