Bulgarian talent Valeri Vladimirov has been included in Milan's squad for today's home match against Bari for the Italian Cup, which is the “Rossoneri“ first match of the new season, reports “Gadzeta dello sport“, Sportal.bg reported.
The 17-year-old central defender arrived in Milan last summer with a transfer from his hometown club Botev (Plovdiv). Last season, Vladimirov competed mainly for the Milanese giants' U-17 squad, recording several matches for the older age categories as well. Our youth international took part in a total of 30 matches, in which he scored 1 goal and provided 2 assists.
The inclusion of the native defender in the group for tonight's match is surprising, since he was not part of the first team's pre-season training this summer. His presence is most likely due to the fact that coach Massimiliano Allegri will bet on a scheme with three central defenders, given that he currently has only four players in this position.
