Apple plans to launch an affordable compact MacBook laptop based on its own Apple A18 Pro microprocessor, which debuted in the flagship iPhone 16 Pro last year. This was announced by authoritative analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
According to the analyst, Apple is developing an affordable MacBook with a 13-inch display and an A18 Pro chip, which will make the device the first Mac equipped with the same processor as the iPhone.
Currently, all Apple laptops with their own chips are based on M-series processors, which have more cores and provide support for more memory. It is also reported that the affordable MacBook will be available in silver, blue, pink and yellow.
Mass production of the new MacBook is expected to begin in late Q4 2025 or early Q1 2026. Apple expects the move to boost MacBook sales.
The new product will account for up to 28% of sales next year. Kuo also noted that the new laptop will use cases made by Chinese company Everwin Precision.
