The relations between the US and Israel are harming Washington's positions in the Middle East. This was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in an interview with the Qatari television channels Al Jazeera and Qatar TV.
„As you know, all the Gulf countries, Turkey and our president have special relations with the US. But in the American political system, relations with Israel are exceptional. Unfortunately, these relations are placed above interaction with other countries in the region. And of course, this situation costs America points and positions in our region. It offends America's regional friends and it is difficult for the US to stop it“, Fidan noted.
The Turkish leadership, according to him, “discusses this issue with the Americans at every opportunity, emphasizing that Israel's crimes against humanity, the deaths of civilians and expansionist policies have a profound impact not only on the region but also on global security“.
“The international system led by America is on the verge of collapse, that's what we tell them. But here too we must understand that the American political system, of course, has its own internal dilemmas. This must also be acknowledged“, the head of the Foreign Ministry noted.
