Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian called on Muslim countries today to sever diplomatic ties with Israel. This came ahead of a meeting of Arab and Islamic states in Doha, Qatar, which will discuss the response to the Israeli airstrike on the leaders of “Hamas“ in Qatar last week, reports Agence France-Presse, quoted by BTA.
“It is possible for Muslim countries to break off relations with this artificial regime and preserve their unity and cohesion as much as possible“, Pezeshkian said before leaving for Qatar.
The Iranian president expressed hope that a decision on retaliatory measures against Israel could be taken during the meeting, notes Agence France-Presse.
