Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov refused to comment on Yulia Navalna's statements about the causes of her husband Alexei Navalny's death, TASS reported, BTA reports.
“I don't know anything about these statements of hers. I can't say anything here“, Peskov said during a briefing.
Yulia Navalna claims that foreign laboratory tests of biological samples taken from Navalny show that he was poisoned, Reuters reported.
Peskov answered negatively when asked whether Navalna's words could affect the political situation or the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. "This cannot in any way affect either the situation or the negotiation process," he stressed.
In the same context, the Kremlin spokesman said that Russia would prefer a diplomatic solution to the situation around Ukraine and remains open to negotiations. He commented on US President Donald Trump's words about possible sanctions against Moscow and his call for NATO countries to abandon Russian oil.
"We maintain our position, we maintain openness to the negotiation process. We continue to state that for us it is preferable to resolve the Ukrainian crisis by political and diplomatic means. Therefore, our position here is well known, it has not changed," Peskov said.
