Depriving Moscow of the means of waging war is essential to ending the war and protecting the security of our continent, said today the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaia Kalas, on the occasion of the announcement of the European Commission's proposal for additional sanctions against Russia over the war in Ukraine.
Kalas specified that the EU is proposing to stop the import of Russian liquefied gas by January 2027, to ban European investments in Russian special economic zones, to restrict Russia's access to artificial intelligence and geospatial data. According to her, measures are planned against those responsible for the abduction and re-education of Ukrainian children.
We will continue to pressure Russia until it accepts a just and lasting peace, adds Kaia Kalas.
