The US administration intends to sell $6 billion worth of weapons to Israel and is seeking congressional approval.
This is what the Wall Street Journal reported. The newspaper cited people familiar with the matter.
According to the article, the package includes a $3.8 billion deal for 30 AH-64 Apache helicopters and a $1.9 billion agreement for 3,250 infantry fighting vehicles for the Israeli army.
The weapons are expected to be delivered within two to three years, the sources said.
The proposed arms sales were sent to congressional leaders for approval before Israel attacked Hamas leadership in Qatar, a US ally that hosts the largest US military presence in the Middle East.
