Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said the US has asked Iran to hand over "targets" enriched uranium stockpiles in exchange for a three-month extension of the suspension of sanctions, describing the demand as "unacceptable", Agence France-Presse reported, quoted by BTA.
"They want us to hand over all our enriched uranium to them", Pezeshkian said on state television before flying to Tehran from New York, where he is attending the UN General Assembly.
"In a few months, they will have a new request and will say (again) that they want to restore the mechanism for returning sanctions", the Iranian president added.
The sanctions that were lifted under the 2015 agreement are due to take effect tonight unless there is a reversal, AFP notes.
