The Russian armed forces are using advanced drones to implement new tactics against Ukrainian militants, Forbes magazine reports.

“Russian troops have created “defeat zones“ in front of their front lines, using a combination of optical and traditional drones,“ the publication says.

According to the publication, these zones hinder the coordination of the Ukrainian armed forces and significantly complicate the supply of Ukrainian forces. In addition, the use of repeaters can potentially double the size of the defeat zone.

“Thanks to the expanded set of relay drones, these strikes can be carried out deeper into the Ukrainian rear, disrupting supplies and movement and giving the Russian troops an operational advantage“, Forbes admits.

On Wednesday, Business Insider reported that the Ukrainian armed forces, in an attempt to protect themselves from Russian drones, are covering roads with canvas nets, but this does not always help. The American newspaper The New York Times, in turn, called Russia a "drone empire" due to the increased production of unmanned aerial vehicles, and journalists noted that the country has undergone a revolution in the production of unmanned aerial vehicles.
