Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that he and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev have agreed to nominate US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.
In a speech to the UN General Assembly, Pashinyan praised Trump's role in advancing the dialogue between the two countries, AFP reported.
He added that "commitment, consistency and principle" Trump have made possible progress in a process once considered unattainable.
"Because we have seen from our own experience that President Trump is truly committed to the idea of peace," Pashinyan said.
This comes after leaders from Pakistan, Israel and several African countries also expressed their support for Trump's nomination.
