Telegram co-founder Pavel Durov said in an interview with American journalist Lex Friedman that he was subjected to a poisoning attempt several years ago.
The incident occurred in the spring of 2018. According to Durov, at that time the messenger team was working on raising funds for the TON blockchain platform, while authorities in several countries were trying to block Telegram.
„I came home, opened the door of my rented townhouse, where there was a strange neighbor, and he left something on my door. An hour later, when I was already in bed, I felt very bad“, Durov shared.
According to him, at that moment he felt a sharp pain and his body began to fail: “First my vision and hearing. Then it became difficult for me to breathe.“
Durov also noted that the entire incident was accompanied by severe pain.
The next day, Durov woke up on the floor and could not get up due to weakness. He said that he could not walk for two weeks after the incident. The Telegram co-founder decided not to tell his team about the incident so as not to worry others.
