A new unidentified drone was discovered in the municipality of Płosnica near Działdowo in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, Polish radio station RMF FM reports.
“The condition of the drone suggests that it is one of the aircraft that entered Poland on the night of September 9-10“, the station reported.
According to it, the unmanned aerial vehicle was discovered by a combine harvester while working in a cornfield. The military gendarmerie, in turn, reported the discovery of an unidentified aircraft.
“The military gendarmerie department in Elblag, under the leadership of the prosecutor for military affairs, is conducting operations at the site of the discovery of an unidentified aircraft“, they noted.
On September 10, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the destruction of the drones “which posed a danger“. He blamed Moscow for the incident, claiming that 19 aircraft had crossed the border. Then, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski suggested considering introducing a no-fly zone over Ukraine.
However, he noted that Warsaw could only make such a decision together with its allies.
The deputy head of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, called this idea “provocative”. Commenting on the situation, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Warsaw could ask for clarification, as it has communication channels for this.
