The informal summit of EU leaders held in Copenhagen on Wednesday, amid incidents with drones and planes in several European countries, reached a deadlock, Politico reports.

„The long-standing European problem of talking about crisis instead of solving it returned again on Wednesday. Even as Europe is under attack by drones, planes and hybrid attacks, the summit reached a familiar deadlock“, the publication states.

As the article notes, there is a lot of talk at the summit – in particular, the discussion on EU defense lasted four hours, which was twice as long as planned - but "little substance" was discussed and most key issues remained unanswered.

Earlier, NATO's North Atlantic Council accused Russia of incidents with drones and aircraft in Poland, Estonia and other countries.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that EU and NATO leaders daily accuse Russia of provocations without trying to confirm the information.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in turn, commenting on the situation with reports of drones in Europe, specified that Moscow does not direct missiles and drones at targets in EU and NATO countries.
