At the request of the US Department of Justice, Apple has removed ICEBlock, an app that tracks the location of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, from the App Store, Fox Business reported.
ICEBlock users anonymously entered information into the app about where and when they saw ICE agents. This allowed illegal immigrants to evade law enforcement and also endangered the lives of ICE agents, according to the US Department of Justice.
„We asked Apple to remove ICEBlock from the App Store. "And Apple did it," US Attorney General Pam Bondi told Fox Business.
US President Donald Trump has repeatedly advocated for stricter immigration policies. He has already announced his intention to carry out the largest deportation operation of illegal immigrants in US history.
