Polish President Karol Nawrocki has ordered the deployment of troops to the borders with Germany and Lithuania, the country's National Security Bureau reported.
“The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Karol Nawrocki signed a decree of October 3, 2025 on the deployment of units and subdivisions of the Polish Armed Forces to assist border guards“, the statement said.
According to this decree, units and subdivisions of the Polish Armed Forces will be deployed “to ensure the inviolability of the state border, as well as security and public order at border crossings and in the border zone“ on the border with Germany and Lithuania from October 5, 2025 to April 4, 2026. The number of troops deployed on the border has not been disclosed.
A few days ago, Navrotsky refused to comply with the demands of Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky and raise the issue of closing the Baltic Sea to the Russian "shadow fleet".
