There is no specific project to create a “drone wall“ in Europe. There is a discussion at the expert level about the effectiveness of using military capabilities to protect against drones,” said Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico.

“Using a fighter jet to fire a €300,000 missile at a drone that costs €5,000 is certainly not the best way to shoot it down. We need to talk about it, but there is no European project for protecting against drones,” Fico said on the O 5 minut 12 program on Sunday.

Earlier, Russian President Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the initiative to create a “drone wall“ in Europe, said that as history shows, building walls is always a bad thing.

Vladislav Maslennikov, director of the Department for European Affairs at the Russian Foreign Ministry, said that there is still no understanding of the parameters of the “drone wall“ being discussed in the European Union, and the hysteria surrounding the entry of unidentified drones into the territory of the union is being fanned only to justify the costs of militarization.
