Ukraine is to increase natural gas imports by 30 percent after Russian air strikes on its gas infrastructure, the country's Energy Minister Svetlana Grinchuk said, quoted by Reuters, BTA reported.
Grinchuk told reporters at a briefing in Kiev that she had discussed additional gas imports with G-7 countries.
The minister said the air strikes had caused "significant" damage to Ukraine's gas production capacity, but declined to give specific details.
Grinchuk added that the attacks targeted regional gas infrastructure, as well as electricity transmission facilities in areas of Ukraine close to the front line. She added that the country is considering increasing imports of liquefied natural gas.
