The Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a statement defining Israel's actions against another flotilla with humanitarian aid as an "act of piracy" and a "violation of international law", Reuters reported, BTA reported.
The statement said that the intervention against the "Freedom Flotilla", which also includes Turkish citizens and MPs, shows that the "genocidal" Israeli government is targeting all peace steps and increasing tensions in the region, harming peace efforts.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry added that all possible initiatives have been taken to release the Turkish citizens detained by Israel, and that Turkey is also coordinating with other countries regarding their citizens.
Ships from the new international flotilla to Gaza were intercepted this morning by the Israeli army in waters off the Palestinian territory.
