US President Donald Trump said his country imports "tremendous" amounts of goods from China and also exports goods to that country, but noted that "maybe" that will have to stop as a result of Beijing's actions, the AP reported.
Asked about China's decision to expand controls on rare earth exports, Trump said he "just heard" He couldn't say much about it, but he noted that he had assigned Treasury Secretary Scott Besant and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick to address the issue.
Trump also noted that he intends to raise the soybean issue when he meets with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping later this month.
