Former US President Joe Biden is undergoing radiation therapy for prostate cancer, with which he was diagnosed in May, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
“President Biden is currently undergoing radiation and hormone therapy, as part of his treatment plan for prostate cancer“, a spokesman for the former head of state said.
In May, the family of Biden, who will turn 83 in November, announced that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer with bone metastases. “Although it is a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, allowing for effective treatment“, the White House said.
In February 2023, Biden underwent surgery to remove basal cell carcinoma, a common form of skin cancer. In November 2021, a polyp, a benign but potentially precancerous growth, was removed from his colon, Reuters recalls.
