One person was killed and seven others were wounded in renewed Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon, the Ministry of Health in Beirut reported yesterday, DPA reported, quoted by BTA, citing Lebanese officials.

The killed person is a Syrian citizen, and two women are among the wounded.

Earlier, the Lebanese national news agency NNA reported that one civilian was killed and one was wounded when they tried to cross a street that was being shelled by Israel. Several bulldozers were also hit, causing some of them to catch fire, the statement said. According to eyewitnesses, at least 15 airstrikes were carried out.

The Israeli army confirmed that it had attacked "Hezbollah" "terrorist infrastructure" in southern Lebanon, including equipment of the Lebanese Shiite movement. There was no immediate comment from "Hezbollah" on the attacks.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned yesterday the midnight Israeli strikes on "civilian sites" in southern Lebanon, which resulted in one death and seven injuries according to the country's health ministry, Agence France-Presse reported.

The Lebanese head of state strongly condemned the repeated attacks. The question arises whether the attacks in Lebanon are intended to compensate for the failure of the attacks in the Gaza Strip, Aoun wrote on the social platform "Ex", quoted by DPA.

It would be logical and fair to grant Lebanon a ceasefire similar to what was just achieved in the Gaza Strip, the Lebanese president said.
