Kosovo elections: Serbian List takes back municipalities predominantly populated by Serbs

The largest party of Kosovo Serbs, "Serbian List", is taking back municipalities predominantly populated by Serbs, preliminary results from the local elections in the country indicate, BNR reported.

According to the newspaper "Koha Ditore" the party won without a runoff in the municipalities of Zvecan, Zubin Potok, Leposavic and North Mitrovica in northern Kosovo, but also in Novo Brdo, Shterpca, Gracanica, Ranilug, Partesh and Klokot.

Ethnic Serbs represent about five percent of Kosovo's population, which totals about one million and 800 thousand people.

Meanwhile, 13 other municipalities, according to the census, are already ending the race.

The center-right Democratic Party of Kosovo won without a runoff in four of them.
The ruling left-wing nationalist movement "Self-Determination" leads with over 50 percent of the vote in three others.

The right-wing Alliance for the Future of Kosovo won in two municipalities, and the center-right Democratic Union of Kosovo - also in two.
