French President Emmanuel Macron said on Monday that he would stay in office to guarantee stability in the country, ignoring repeated calls for his resignation from the opposition amid France's deepest political crisis in decades, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
Never forget that the mandate given by the French people is to serve and answer the questions of ordinary French people, as well as to do everything possible for the independence of France, Macron told reporters in Egypt a few days after re-appointing Prime Minister Sebastien Le Corneille as head of government.
"This is the only thing that matters. The rest is up to the government... I will continue to guarantee stability," added Macron, whose second term ends in 2027.
