The Israeli military announced that it had received the bodies of four dead hostages held by “Hamas“ in Gaza, world agencies reported, quoted by BTA.
The Palestinian group is expected to return the bodies of a total of 28 dead hostages to Israel as part of the ceasefire agreement, although it is not yet clear when the rest will be sent.
The Israeli military said that they are currently transporting the bodies to Israeli territory for identification. The military said it would not release the names of the dead hostages for now and urged the public to be patient and wait for the completion of the official identification procedure at the National Center for Forensic Medicine.
The Israel Prison Service said today that it had released nearly 2,000 prisoners, mostly Palestinians, as part of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, AFP reported.
A statement from the service said that “1,968 terrorists were transferred from several prisons across the country to “Ofer“ and “Ktsiot“ prisons.
“After completing the necessary procedures at the prisons and with the approval of the political authorities, all the terrorists were released, with those from “Ofer“ are heading to the West Bank and East Jerusalem, and those from the “Kziot“ prison – to Kerem Shalom“, the authorities added, referring to one of the crossing points on the border with the Gaza Strip.
