Since the beginning of the war, Russia has lost up to 9,000 battle tanks and tens of thousands of armored vehicles. This was reported by a high-ranking NATO official, RBC-Ukraine reports.
According to him, at the moment Russia has lost approximately 4,000 to 9,000 battle tanks. In addition, the Russians have lost 20,000 armored vehicles.
"And they quite actively used Soviet stocks, dismantling equipment to maintain Soviet systems in working order. In many cases, there are no old machines left for such dismantling,” the NATO representative noted.
Currently, Russia produces about 130 tanks per month, i.e. approximately 1,600 new tanks per year.
In September, Russia lost an average of 950 people per day, which is a moderate increase compared to the average for August. At the same time, it is lower than in the spring and summer, the Ukrainian media added.
According to the NATO representative, in 2025 an average of about 1,200 casualties were recorded per day. Currently, the total number of casualties exceeds 1.1 million Russian soldiers, of which over 250,000 were killed in combat.
