US President Donald Trump said that the Ukrainian armed forces intend to “go on the offensive“ and he plans to make a decision on this issue at a meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky.
“They want to go on the offensive and I will make a decision on this issue“, Trump told reporters, commenting on the upcoming meeting with Zelensky.
Earlier this week, Donald Trump confirmed his plans to meet with Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on October 17. Zelensky, for his part, expressed his hopes for a meeting with the American leader to request long-range weapons again.
Airborne warning systems were activated across Ukraine, and explosions were heard in several cities, including Kharkiv and Poltava.
The alert was first triggered in Kiev at 5:17 a.m. Bulgarian time, and then, according to the online map of the country's Ministry of Digital Transformation, sirens were activated across Ukraine within minutes.
According to Ukrainian media, explosions were heard in Kharkiv, as well as in Kirovograd, Poltava and Izyum.
