The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, Ali Larijani, visited Moscow, where he held a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Larijani's Telegram channel reported, News.bg reports.
The statement specifies that during the evening meeting, Larijani conveyed a personal message from Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and discussed with the Russian president issues of bilateral importance, as well as economic, regional and international cooperation.
According to the TASS agency, Putin expressed a position aimed at strengthening stability in the region and a peaceful political settlement of issues related to the Iranian nuclear program.
Moscow has previously provided technical assistance within the framework of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), agreed between international participants to process Iran's stockpile of enriched uranium. This cooperation was suspended after the United States withdrew from the agreement in 2018.
