The Chukotka-Alaska tunnel will be approximately twice as long as the Eurotunnel, according to RIA Novosti calculations based on public data.

The tunnel could stretch for 98 to 113 kilometers - approximately twice as long as the tunnel connecting France with the United Kingdom (approximately 51 kilometers).

On Thursday, Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, announced the prospects for building an intercontinental tunnel through the Bering Strait using The Boring Company's technology. He said the project would require up to $8 billion, and the tunnel could be built in less than eight years.

Dmitriev also noted that the fund had reviewed existing proposals, including the US-Canada-Russia-China railway, and would support the most viable one.
