The new CEO of „Deutsche Bahn“ Evelyn Pala plans to completely restructure the company and significantly improve the quality of the state-owned railway operator, DPA reported, BTA reported.
„We are turning the company upside down. The goal is a completely new beginning“, Evelyn Pala told today's issue of the „Bild“ newspaper.
„To do this, we have to do everything differently than before. I look at every job for its added value for our customers. The administration must serve the railway workers“, she said.
Pala added that a number of decisions will no longer be made at a central level.
„I put people on the spot decision makers. They are the backbone of our company. They also deserve a new start. My goal is less bureaucracy and significantly more space for those who do the work. In the future, decisions will be made where the responsibility lies, not three floors above,“ added the new head of “Deutsche Bahn“.
According to her, dirty trains and stations, closed cafes on board trains should no longer exist in the future. Rail customers will be offered digital tracking of repair and construction activities to better plan their trips.
