Authorities on the Greek island of Samos, in the eastern Aegean Sea, have launched an investigation after the body of a man was found last night in a rocky area in the northeastern part of the island, the online edition of the newspaper “Kathimerini“ reports, BTA reports.
According to Greek state television ERT, locals reported the body, after which a coast guard rescue boat was sent to the scene. The body was removed and transported to a hospital in Samos. An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death and identify the victim.
Authorities are considering the possibility that the body belongs to 24-year-old Omar Khaled Mughmash, a Palestinian citizen who has been missing since the early hours of October 12.
