The United States has lifted a key restriction on Ukraine's use of certain long-range missiles, allowing Kiev to step up attacks on targets in Russia, The Wall Street Journal reports, citing sources in the US administration.
According to the publication, Ukrainian forces used a British Storm Shadow cruise missile in a strike on Bryansk on Tuesday.
Donald Trump later denied information about a decision to lift the restriction, adding that the United States had nothing to do with the long-range missiles used by the Ukrainian armed forces to strike deep into Russian territory.
According to the article, the decision, which was not publicly announced, followed the transfer of authority to coordinate such strikes from US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth to the commander of the US European Command, Alexus Grinkiewicz, who also leads NATO Allied Forces Europe.
