Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth announced that US forces have destroyed a boat that was used for drug trafficking.
This happened in international waters in the Pacific Ocean.
As the Secretary of War reported in X, on October 22, the US military, on the instructions of US President Donald Trump, hit a small vessel in the eastern Pacific Ocean. Hegseth said that the boat was carrying drugs belonging to an organization that the US considers terrorist.
According to the Pentagon chief, “three men, members of a narco-terrorist organization, were on board during the strike, which was carried out in international waters“. They were killed. The minister noted that no US military personnel were injured. “Such strikes will continue”, he assured.
Earlier, CBS reported that the US military had struck another vessel in the Pacific Ocean, which was allegedly being used to smuggle drugs into the US. Hegseth noted that this was the eighth boat destroyed by the US military under the pretext of combating drug trafficking, with previous strikes having been carried out in the southern Caribbean.
