It is absolutely clear that the United States is an adversary of Russia and that the latest steps of US President Donald Trump towards Ukraine constitute an act of war against Russia. This was stated by former Russian President and now Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, quoted by "Reuters".
"The United States is our adversary and its chatty "peacemaker" (Donald Trump - editor's note) has already taken a full military path with Russia," Medvedev said, adding that the decisions taken were an act of war, "and now Trump has completely united with crazy Europe."
We recall that earlier today the US imposed sanctions on major Russian oil companies Rosneft and Lukoil, with Washington stating that it was ready to take additional action and calling on Moscow to immediately agree to a ceasefire in Russia's war in Ukraine.
The sanctions were imposed against the backdrop of the failed meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. It was supposed to take place in Budapest, but after a phone call between US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, the meeting was canceled.
Trump said that he did not want a "wasted meeting" with Putin, explaining that Moscow's refusal to cease fighting on the current front line remains a stumbling block.
