Tens of thousands of Valencia residents took to the streets of the city again on the eve of the first anniversary of the floods, BNR reported.
Once again they demanded the resignation of regional Prime Minister Carlos Mazon. Relatives of the victims carried photos of their loved ones and posters demanding justice.
Under the slogan "Mazon's resignation" the demonstrators held a march through the central streets of Valencia. In a manifesto read during the protest, the demonstrators stressed that political responsibility for the tragedy has not yet been taken and that the only information they have received from the Valencian government is a lie.
The president of the Association of the Families of the Deceased, Rosa Álvarez, said they were not only calling for Mazón's resignation but also for him to be brought to justice. She explained that the relatives of the victims "have a lot of pain and anger" and this gives them the strength to continue fighting for justice.
This is the twelfth demonstration and took place four days before the first anniversary of the disaster, when a memorial service for the victims is planned in the city.
