Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the consequences of the Russian attack on Kiev are still being felt and expressed condolences to the relatives of the dead. He pointed out that the airstrike caused serious damage to high-rise buildings in several districts of the capital, the BBC quoted him as saying.
"Every Russian strike is an attempt to cause the greatest possible damage to ordinary life. This week, these are strikes on residential buildings, on our people, on children, on civilian infrastructure. These are the main goals of the Russians. Thousands of strikes with various types of weapons - in just one week, Russia used nearly 1,200 strike drones, over 1,360 guided bombs and over 50 missiles of various types against Ukraine," he wrote on social networks.
"Under all these attacks, Ukraine continued to actively defend itself: on the battlefield, in the sky and diplomatically. There are significant results from the pressure on Russia - the 19th package of EU sanctions and new US sanctions against Russian oil. We are grateful to our partners for these steps, but it is important not to stop," the Ukrainian leader added.
