Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that 90-95% of the country's strikes deep into Russian territory are carried out with Ukrainian weapons, Ukrinform reported, quoted by BTA.
“As for strikes deep into Russia, 90-95% are carried out with our own weapons“, Zelensky pointed out. He specified that of the European long-range systems, Ukraine mainly uses “Storm Shadow“, as well as a limited number of SCALP missiles. "We don't use other European weapons - we just don't have them," the president added.
Zelensky said Ukraine was ready to negotiate with European countries for the supply of additional long-range weapons.
Regarding the front line, the Ukrainian leader said that heavy fighting was taking place around Pokrovsk in eastern Ukraine, with about 200 Russian soldiers massed in the town. "As soon as they appear or strike from a certain location, we detect them and destroy them. Pokrovsk is the main target of the Russians," he said, quoted by Agence France-Presse.
In addition to military issues, Zelensky is discussing with European leaders the supply of electrical equipment. He is in talks with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni about purchasing equipment to generate electricity. "There are companies in Germany and Italy that produce the necessary equipment. "I want the humanitarian aid funds to be redirected to the purchase of this equipment," Zelensky explained.
The president added that Meloni had expressed her readiness to support the country by proposing the alternative of using gas and would check which option was faster. At the same time, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and the Netherlands have also expressed their readiness to provide assistance on energy issues. "We are currently working on the details," Zelensky said.
