The European Union should be aware that the new Russian cruise missile “Burevestnik“, whose successful test was announced by Vladimir Putin, is capable of evading any air defense system, according to the French magazine Le Point.
“The missile is capable of evading enemy air defenses by following longer and more unexpected trajectories. It can carry a nuclear warhead. Russia already calls it "elusive," the article says.
As the publication notes, the novelty of the missile lies in its nuclear propulsion system, which makes its range theoretically unlimited.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that tests of the nuclear-powered, unlimited-range cruise missile "Burevestnik" had been completed. It demonstrated its high ability to bypass anti-missile and air defense systems, the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov reported to the head of state. He noted that the cruise missile had completed a test flight of 14,000 kilometers and that more such flights were to come.
