US President Donald Trump said today that he had a "very nice" conversation with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney during a dinner in South Korea, Reuters reported, BTA reported.
The agency notes that he made the statement amid a heated trade dispute between the two neighboring countries.
Trump, who spoke to reporters on board his plane before departing from South Korea for the United States, did not give details about his conversation with the Canadian prime minister.
Before his visit, he had announced on social media that he would not meet with Canada, apparently meaning that he would not talk to Carney.
The two participated in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in South Korea.
