“We are taking active steps to build trust and make North Korea feel more secure“, the South Korean president said today during a news conference after the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in the city of Gyeongju.
Since taking office in June, the South Korean president has made several attempts to start dialogue with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, which have been rejected.
Pyongyang has repeatedly called South Korea its main enemy and last year wrote that definition into the North Korean constitution.
Kim says he is not interested in dialogue with South Korea, regardless of which government is in power.
